Kieran Walsh

Managing Director & Co Founder

Kieran founded Simpli Baked in 2008, drawing on a rich background in baking. Growing up in a traditional craft bakery, he pursued bakery technology and management in Dublin and gained hands-on experience working in bakeries across Ireland, Germany, and the Middle East.

Kieran’s favorite part of Simpli Baked is working with such a passionate team, making every day enjoyable and rewarding.

Deirdre Coyle

Technical and Product Development Manager

Deirdre joined Simpli Baked in 2009. With a BSc and MSc in Food Science, she began her career with Kerry Foods, gaining invaluable experience that she brought to Simpli Baked in its early days. Deirdre plays a key role in driving innovation and ensuring product quality.

Deirdre reflects proudly on the company’s journey since 2009, crediting its success to the team’s dedication and the can-do spirit of owner Kieran Walsh. She believes Simpli Baked’s remarkable achievements wouldn’t have been possible without the people and Kieran’s leadership.

Customer Service & Supply Chain Manager

Deirdre joined Simpli Baked in 2016, initially in an administrative role. She holds a Bachelor of Business Studies in Marketing and brings experience from her previous career in retail management.

Deirdre enjoys the variety at Simpli Baked, where no two days are the same. She finds the work both challenging and fun, thanks to the like-minded team.

Damien O’Reilly

Operations Manager

Damien joined Simpli Baked in November 2023, bringing over 20 years of expertise in production and operations. Beginning his career with a bakery in Co. Longford, Damien transitioned to the meat industry in 2007. A native of Westmeath, he now resides in South Offaly, contributing his extensive knowledge to our team.

Damien is deeply passionate about his role at Simpli Baked. He values the talented team in Tullamore and admires their innovative, forward-thinking approach to every challenge.

Paul Grennan

Training Manager

Paul joined Simpli Baked in 2009 after beginning his career in carpentry. With hands-on experience across the production floor, he quickly rose from Assistant Supervisor to Production Supervisor. Now Training Manager, he brings valuable knowledge to support team development and growth.

He enjoys the company’s constant evolution—through new machinery and product ranges—and values the people he works with, who make his role all the more rewarding.

Nigel Casey

Head of Engineering

Nigel joined in 2023. He began his career in aircraft maintenance before transitioning to industrial automation engineering in 2002, specialising in the medical packaging industry.

Nigel appreciates Simpli Baked’s use of cutting-edge automation equipment to produce its products. He finds the work environment both stimulating and rewarding.

Danny Newman

Production Manager

Danny Newman, one of our Production Managers, joined Simpli Baked in May 2011 as a General Operator. He was promoted to Supervisor in 2016 and further advanced to Production Manager in September 2018.

Danny enjoys working at Simpli Baked because it’s a company that rewards hard work. He thrives in its challenging, ambitious environment, where every day offers new opportunities for growth.

Anna Healy

Production Manager

Anna joined Simpli Baked in January 2016 as a General Operator after returning from Australia, where she worked in early childcare. Seeking a career change, she quickly rose through the ranks to become Production Manager in October 2023.

Anna enjoys the fast-paced, dynamic environment and finds the engineering side of her role especially rewarding, as it allows her to express her creativity.

Bernadette Dolan

Financial Controller

Bernadette joined Simpli Baked in 2016. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from UCC, is a Chartered Accountant qualified with Deloitte, and has a Diploma in Tax from Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Bernadette enjoys the fast-paced nature of her role, the challenges it brings, and the strong team dynamic that makes the hard work rewarding.

Offaly food firm bucks trend by creating new jobs

A locally based tortilla and pizza base company has managed to increase employment numbers and production in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Simpli Baked, the food manufacturing business based at Cloncollig in Tullamore, recently employed 12 extra full-time team members to help them meet production demands.
This brings the workforce to a total of 62 full-time team members at the plant.

Tullamore firm wins national award

Tullamore firm Simpli Baked was amongst the winners at the Small Firms Association (SFA) National Small Business Awards, which took place in Dublin on Wednesday.
Simpli Baked won the Bord Bia sponsored Food and Drink Award, seeing off the challenge of firms from Longford, Mayo, Galway and Wexford.
